Robbers Killed 4 And Cart Away Huge Sum of Money In Port Harcourt

It quite obvious that in the city of Port Harcourt, security is a challenge lives and property cannot be guaranteed. Four persons were shot dead in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, yesterday, during a robbery attack
in Rivers State University of Science and Technology, which saw the robbers carting away millions of Nigerian naira from a bullion van. The robbery attack took place at Mile 3 area of the Port Harcourt city.
Reports according to eyewit­ness, says the robbers oper­ated in an ash coloured High­lander SUV car, They also said the robbers were said to have surrounded the bullion van conveying the cash, as they shot sporadically not minding if human lives.
The robbery operation which lasted for closed to an hour caused panic in the area as motorists, traders and pe­destrians were seen running helter skelter to avoid being hit by stray bullets. Source also revealed that the robbers successfully moved the millions of naira in Ghana must go bags, into their operational ve­hicle and took off.
However, in a bid to have an uninterrupted escape, the robbers shot cease­lessly as they drove on the Ik­werre road towards Mile 1.
Items recovered from the foiled robbery include their operational vehicle a gold coloured Toyota Highlander, one Berretta pistol, one scorpion rifle, 11 AK-47 magazines, 63 assorted live ammunition, two objects suspected to be dynamite, a charm and different vehicle number plates.
“A close examination of their vehicle indicated that the armed robbers sustained gunshot wounds as it was soaked with blood. One person lost his life.”
The PPRO Ahmad K. Mohammad, however, appealed to members of the public to report persons with gunshot wounds the nearest police station in the state.
