Akinwumi Ambode in the
just concluded April 11th 2015 gubernatorial election got a total of 724,114 votes knocking down his PDP
contender Jimi Agbaje who scored a total of 560,453 votes. Thus the APC governorship flag bearer Ambode was finally
declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
His victory as the new
governor elect in Lagos State is said to be the one that will bring about a
change and turning the state to an amiable tourist centre. His government is said to be a government with experience, honesty and integrity.
However, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the 16th of April, 2015 issued a certificate of return to the Lagos state governor elect Akinwumi
Ambode of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the Archbishop Vining Memorial
Hall, in ikeja.This is the new face of Lagos state governor.
