Nigerians youths
residing in South Africa have been reportedly attacked by South Africans. The
youths of Nigeria have raised an alarm on the xenophobic attack against her.
Meanwhile, Nigerians on
Thursday the 16th of April 2015 have threatened to hit back at South African
companies in Nigerian if the xenophobic attack on Nigerians is not called to a
stop.
During a peaceful
protest on Thursday by Nigerians at the South African embassy in Lagos, the
youth leader Mr. Segun Tomori described the recent xenophobic attack on
Nigerians residing in South Africa as uncalled for. Stressing that, Nigerians
and other African countries helped to rescue the country during Apartheid.
He’s statement below:
''We are showing our dissatisfaction with the way our brothers and sisters are being treated in South Africa and we mean other Africans when we say our brothers and sisters''
A report shows that
more than 2000 foreigners have been rendered homeless since the attack. Although
the violent attack was triggered by a statement made by the Goodwill Zwelithini
(Zulu King) asking all foreigners to pack their belongings and leave.
Meanwhile, South African high commissioner
representative to Nigeria, Godwin Singari said: the South African government is
honestly not pleased with the recent xenophobic attacks on foreigners promised
to do everything under its power to ensure it is brought to a stop.

''I stand before you first as an African, secondly as a South African and at the embassy. We are deeply concerned about what is happening in South Africa and surely we would relay this letter to the South African authority. We are very sorry about what is happening in South Africa,” he told the youth''.
However, the South
African President Jacob Zuma has condemned the attack on all foreigners
residing in the country.
