There was panic
yesterday at the Abuja Federal Secretariat following a fire outbreak that
engulfed the 5th and 6th floor of the ministry of
education. Although, it took the effort of the Federal Fire service and the FCT
fire service to combat the fire in the building.
The fire outbreak which
was reported started at about 1:45pm yesterday. Meanwhile, business activities
in the ever busy Federal secretariat were brought to a halt temporarily. The
incident also brought to an end a media event which was hosted by minister of state
for education Prof. Viola Onwuliri.
According to her, the
situation was finally brought under control though the cause of the fire
outbreak is not yet known.
