Nigerians Experience Long Queues At Filling Stations

A couple of weeks ago, the Federal Government released the sum of N156B to the independent oil marketers as part of the debt owed. No fewer than later, long queues have resurfaced at filling stations; man hours lost which has resulted to loss of huge revenue in the country.

An interaction with few Nigerians at the filling stations reveals that the situation isn’t getting any better as some of the filling stations believing to have the petroleum product (PMS) seem to be hoarding the product, some selling the petroleum product at a very exorbitant rate other than the normal pump price of N87. Some say that, some stations selling the fuel also used the medium to reduce their pump by reaping Nigerians off.

They also reveal that the long queue has given the black marketers the reason to sell PMS at a very high price as some black marketers sell 4litres of PMS for N1500.

Meanwhile, Nigerians are calling on the federal Government to do something very fast to abate the situation. But analysts say that, until the payment issues between the federal and the independent oil marketers is resolved, Nigerian will have to leave with the reality of the fuel scarcity and thriving black market sale of the petroleum product (PMS).
