The city of Ado Ekiti
yesterday the 17th of April experience a protest organized by the
labour union which comprises of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union
Congress (TUC) as well as the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) of the state.
The Union took to the
streets of the state, protesting against the impeachment of the state governor
Ayodele Fayose by the 19 men group of the All Progressive Congress.
The protest which was
said to have crippled business activities was geared towards ensuring that
peace and stability returns to the Ekiti.
An interaction with the
state secretary of NLC Mr. Ade Obatoye reveals that the threats by the APC
lawmakers to impeaching the Governor of the state Ayodele Fayose, has spurred
unrest. He however, called on the lawmakers to give peace a chance by allowing
the people of Ekiti to enjoy the mandate accorded to the state governor.
Politics is not a do or die affair, let the peoples choice in Ekiti continue to speak for them. The will of the people is most paramount in this democratic dispensation. APC lawmakers are biting more than they can chew.
