Following power tussles rocking Rivers State, Attorney
General of the Federation and Justice Minister Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN)
yesterday, has asked the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State Hon. Justice Kate Abiri to inaugurate the
Governor Elect of Rivers State Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike come 29th of May, 2015.
The Attorney General in a statement said, where there is
vaccum in the office of the Chief Judge of a State and that of the Customary
Court of Appeal President, the country’s constitution provides room for anyone
to administer oath of office on a Governor Elect.
His statement:
Meanwhile, to avert constitutional crisis in the state come
May 29, I have requested the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State to Administer the
Oath of Allegiance as well as the Oath of Office on the Governor Elect in
accordance with section 185(2) of the 1999 Federal Constitution.
