Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association Decries Volume Spent In Importing Animal Products

The Nigerian veterinary medical association has raised an alarm over the volume of milk and other animal product imported into the country. The statement was made during the 52nd annual congress of the association in Port Harcourt.
Meanwhile, the national president of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association Dr. Edgar Amos said Nigeria is not meant to import large amount of milk and animal product giving the vast expanse of land, ocean and diverse agricultural potential in the country.
According to him:

I wondered why the Federal Government will be spending over $5billion annually for the importation of animal products which could be produced locally here in the country.
Government needs to look inward and to harness the vast potentials of the country as this will lead to job creation and reduce unemployment.
